Hey Chris,
Sure, since kratom has not yet been studied as extensively as most other drugs and botanicals, there isn’t a whole lot of peer review studies regrading anything about the plant honestly. Would the author be so kind as to leave the source that speaks directly to the study and findings regarding addiction from Kratom use? I don’t want to say this is incorrect as I have not run studies outside of my own personal use (Dec 2017 first Kratom dose). From what I have seen/read, the alkaloids in Kratom do not bind as tightly to an opiate receptor. If you have a source I would look forward to reading more about it. Thank you for the lengthy write up about kava and Kratom.

Howdy, my name is also Chris and I too suffer from chronic pain due to having multiple back surgeries b/c of scoliosis where I had to have three rods implanted into my spine to stop it from curving more than it already had. I’ve read quite a bit about kratom and kava which I would like to try. I would however like to talk to someone like yourself who has experience and knowledge on both kratom and kava instead of just jumping head first into taking either. Great write up! I’ve been drinking kratom tea for over 2 years now due to chronic pain. It has been a godsend for me and would highly recommend it to anyone suffering from any kind of debilitating pain. I drink kava as well, and it helps me with anxiety and to calm down. To each their own though and hopefully both of these plants will remain available for those who want to use them.
