Tepid or warm (temperature of water from your faucet, but not boiling hot) water works best. See our blog post on tips for the best kava drinking experience: https://kalmwithkava.com/kava-tea-tips-for-best-kava-experience/

Hi Danny, the answer is not hot, but not necessarily cold either. Tap hot (definitely not boiling) or tepid water works best. See the Kava Preparation Pro Tip in the blue box on this page for more info: https://kalmwithkava.com/easy-kava-preparation/

This recipe sounds delicious. Question: is it better to let the Kava steep in cold coconut water or hot? I heard it’s you get more of the relaxing benefits when it’s cold.
